Although it has been erroneously reported that ‘Flying Without Wings’ is an original song written especially for ‘American Idol’ winner Ruben Studdard, the song was actually originally recorded by Irish group Westlife. The song went on to be a number one hit for the group when it was released in 1999 on their self titled debut album.
