Russell Simmons Hopes Michael Jackson Will Headline Live 8

Russell Simmons tells Radio 1 he’s working on getting Michael Jackson to headline Live 8 in Philadelphia, especially now that 50 Cent had to drop out of the event because of filming commitments in Canada. “If he’s considering it I’ll certainly call and beg him to. This Live Aid, the artists should be more involved,” Simmons said. “Give to your own family is one thing, but to give to people outside your family, to see the global community as your family, that’s a beautiful thing as well.”
