Russia Suspends Lucrative Commercial Launches

Associated Press reports that because of the shuttle Columbia disaster, Russia will stop sending crews and paying tourists on short visits to the International Space Station for now. The Russian commercial launch program received a great deal of attention in the United States this summer when *NSYNC star Lance Bass made a bid to be aboard a Russian spacecraft for an October launch. Although he was approved by NASA, Bass never made the launch.
