Sandi Thom: Jade Goody Is “Truly Heroic In Her Bravery”
Sandi Thom updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Tuesday (March 10), talking about how her cat Toots is still missing and sharing her thoughts on British reality star Jade Goody’s battle with cervical cancer. The 27-year-old singer songwriter tells readers:
I’ve been following Jade Goody in the news these last few weeks. Talk about sad. It’s amazing how courageous she’s being, I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now but it just goes to show that the ones you least expect end up being heroes. She is truly heroic in her bravery. What a courageous woman. I totally support her plight in lowering the age for a smear.
It’s 20 in Scotland and 25 in England. I was so lucky when I was younger cos my mum made me go for a smear when I was 19, my GP did it and found pre cancerous cells. I had them burnt away by laser surgery, truly painful experience and thankfully nothing ever came off it but imagine what would have happened if it had gone undetected for yrs. I would probably have developed cancer by now.

I also have had a smear that was bad. i truly believe in going to your yearly’s. it can’t save you for sure, but hopefully you can catch it in time. I think she is truly brave and a strong woman!!
