Sara Bareilles Discusses New Album & Ode To ‘Jersey Shore’
Sara Bareilles talked with Billboard at the studio about how she reacts to hearing her own music while shopping, how writing for the new album has been tough for her, wanting to diversify the sound on the record, and keeping a handheld digital with her for whenever an idea hits her, and her song in tribute to ‘Jersey Shore’.
“As I’m practicing it at home, I’m like, ‘This is horrible. This could go really poorly,'” Sara said of the ‘Jersey Shore’ song. “Literally I wrote it like an hour before I had to be at the show. It was just meant to be funny. People laughed and I had a good time with it and it ended up being seen by more people than I thought would see it.”
