The third episode of Sara Bareilles for the making of her new album ‘Kaleidoscope Heart’ has been posted online, featuring the singer songwriter at the Village Recorder Studios in Los Angeles working on the song ‘Gonna Get Over You’. Sara said of the track at her MySpace blog:
I wrote the chorus to this song years ago and always loved singing it, but never really felt like I had the write song to put around it. After such a rocky start, this song was the FIRST completed song that I knew would go on my second record. So… it’s kinda like the grandaddy of the rest of Kaleidoscope Heart, if you will. Or if you won’t, that’s okay too. I ain’t mad at ya. It took us two complete stabs at this little diddy to get it right, but I feel like we finally captured the essence of the song which was meant to be sort of vintage 50’s doo wop feel with a modern twist.
Think Roy Orbison in a Hummer.
“This is the last of the four songs that we came in the studio to start,” Sara says towards the end of the video. Now I have to go back and write some more songs, but these ones have come out phenomenally well and I’m really, really happy with everything, so the new album will be out before you know it.”
