Scientology Saves Lisa Marie Presley From Dad’s Fate

Lisa Marie Presley tells Paper magazine that she joined the Church of Scientology at the age of 18 when she was coming off a five-year drug-and-booze binge. “I was on a 72-hour bender,” she says. “Cocaine, sedatives, pot and drinking – all at the same time… I don’t know how I lived through it. I woke up one day with a bunch of people on the floor, and the coke dealer was in the room, and I said, ‘Everybody get the fu** out! That’s it. I’m done.’ I drove myself to the Church of Scientology and said, ‘Somebody fu**ing help me right now’.” Lisa Marie credits Scientology from saving her from ending up like her father Elvis.
