Seacrest Calls Clark An ‘Opportunist’

‘American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest was on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ on Monday and was quized about season two contestant Corey Clark’s affair with Paula Abdul. “Well, I think there’s a lot of hearsay when it comes to this situation,” Seacrest told Leno. “I mean, the way I look at it is, you’ve got a contestant, a a former contestant that, years later, comes out and says this at the same time he’s trying to promote a song.” That prompted Leno to fume, “And he’s a little weasel.” Seacrest added, “Yeah, he’s trying to promote a song. I mean, the guy’s an opportunist. He’s trying to promote a song that would never get played or any recognition unless he’s got some story attached to it. And I think that’s what this kid is doing. Paula is a dear friend and I 100% support her.”
