Seacrest Misses Out On Spears Meeting: Blame Durst
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday, where he revealed that he missed out on a chance to meet Britney Spears, whom he admitted to being obsessed with, because her boyfriend Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit arrived just as he was to be introduced. Jay: Now where’d you just get back from? I saw something — oh, sundance.
Ryan: Sundance. I was with the folks from Sundance Channel up there.
And I was so excited because we went to a party on Saturday night and Britney
Spears was there. An she’s someone I have never met that I was dying to
meet.
Jay: Really?
Ryan: Yeah, I have this obsession with her. I’m totally fascinated by
Britney Spears. And so, it’s about –
Jay: What part of her fascinates you? I’m cuos.
[Laughter]
Ryan: Do you want me to start now?
Jay: Well, no. Go ahead, go ahead.
Ryan: So we’re at the party, and I’m about to be introduced to her –
Jay: Right.
Ryan: And as soon as I get close — ’cause you have to work your way
into the booth and get past the big guys. And I’m right up to the booth,
and all of a sudden, in walks Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit. And I guess
that’s her boyfriend, right?
Jay: Right, right.
Ryan: And so, I didn’t get to meet her. But what I realized was that
in Hollywood — follow me — you’re a couple if you leave a party separately.
That’s how you know that someone’s together — they leave separately. It’s
true.
Jay: Now why would you do that?
Ryan: ‘Cause you don’t want to be — I don’t know. See you don’t want
to be pictured together, seen together.
