October 5, 2001 – The New York Daily News’ Mitchell Fink reports Janet Jackson’s European concert tour wasn’t selling “as briskly as she hoped.” Janet had said she cancelled fearing additional terror acts saying, “If anything happened to anyone on this tour, I could never forgive myself.”

October 1, 2001 – Janet issued a press release Monday announcing she has cancelled her European tour due to safety concerns following the terror attacks in the United States on September 11.
Jackson said in a statement, “My European fans are among the most loyal and I was very excited to share this show with them. I have agonized over this decision,” she added. “Like most people the events of Sept. 11 have troubled me enormously and I remain concerned about the foreseeable future.”
Jackson may reschedule the cancelled shows next year. In the meantime, fans can get refunds at point of purchase.
Mixed Review Of Janet’s Dallas Show
September 24, 2001 – The Dallas Morning News’ Thor Christensen reviewed Janet Jackson’s performance Saturday night at American Airlines Center calling it “a largely hollow experience filled with tons of pre-taped vocals and frothy aerobic dance tunes.” But all is not bad, as he says the ‘show’ was “pure delight”.
