Chris Macias of the Sacremento Bee reviewed Britney Spears’ concert at the Arco Arena on Monday night, saying there wasn’t much difference between the live set and the ‘Britney Spears: Live From Las Vegas’ home video. “Spears’ presented a nonstop sugar rush of eye candy,” he said. “But there was also zilch in the way of spontaneity or surprise. With lighting, effects, dancing and music all rigidly programmed, seeing one stop on Spears’ tour is like seeing them all.” Macias added, “Though Spears appeared guilty of lip-synching during the more-strenuous song-and-dance numbers, her singing was mostly fine during the show’s few intimate moments. Her vocal pipes sounded a wee bit rusty and road-weary during the ballad “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,” but her range and vibrato managed to shine.”
