According to Nielsen, ‘Selena Vive!’, which aired live April 7th, garnered a 35.9 Hispanic Television index rating, which translates into 3.9 million viewing households. It is the highest rating ever for a Spanish-language TV special. Billboard reports that the interest has put an increased push behind the CD and DVD releases of the show by EMI. “The demand from customers and buyers has been great,” says Jorge Pino, president/chairman of EMI Music U.S. Latin. “The Selena legacy continues unabated. And what we were able to see in the concert is that her fan base is made up of older and younger people.”
