Shakira Designed Her Boyfriend

Chrissy Iley of The Scotsman spoke to Shakira about her relationship with Antonio, the son of the former president of Argentina, Fernando de la Rua, who she “designed” after being in a bad prior relationship. Shakira admits she spent two years “dedicating myself 100 per cent to my work; although that was not healthy either, it was absolutely necessary. I needed to be alone [she rented a farm in Uruguay] to design the man of my life.” When asked to explain what “design” meant, Shakira replied, “Yes, make a love map in my head. I had to make sure I wasn’t designing anything similar to what had been in my past.”
