While Shakira appreciates attention to her physical charisma, she tells Jordan Levin of the Miami Herald that she doesn’t want it to overshadow her music. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a woman feeling in touch with her sensual aspect, but I always try to keep the other parts of myself out front,” she says. “It was fun for a while to be on the cover of fashion magazines, and for people to consider me a sex symbol for the first time, because in Latin America they never considered me a sex symbol. But it’s not all I have to offer. I think it’s a dangerous game.”
