Shakira is featured in the September 2003 issue of Stuff magazine as part of their Latina Lustapalooza segment. The Colombian singer says she’s not a fan of jewelry explaining, “I hate jewelry. I think it’s pretentious. But, of course, it’s different in my country, because to wear jewels and pass by people who haven’t eaten in days is really unnecessary.”

Another reason why I love Shakira. She knows what is important and not important in life.
I won’t lie.. I love jewelry but I also agree with Shakira’s view of jewelry. I hope to one day be really well off in the financial department but that doesn’t mean I have to over-indulge like many celebrities do. helping other people is what really shows strength of character.
