The Maxtrix just finished a week of writing and recording seven songs with Shakira at her ranch in Spain, an experience Scott Spock said was energizing. “She’s such a talent, she just gets in front of the mic and sings flawlessly and she’s also an amazing writer,” Spock told MTV News. “Spanish is her primary language, but we did lyrics with her and she’s also quite the poet in English.” The direction they took was a big departure from her English language debut ‘Laundry Service’. “It’s got more of a rock tip to it,” he said of her second English album. “It’s a call back to the Cure and the Pretenders. I think that’s awesome! I can’t wait to hear it! But I can already hear the dumb ass one-dimensional pop stars on here complaining because Shakira is already put into this pop category and they get their feathers ruffled when someone attempts to venture out of it.
I’m pretty curious to hear how her next album will sound myself.
This is so awesome… Shakira is indeed very talented, I mean, I have almost all of her albums, since 1997 “Pies Descalzos” to 2001 “Laundry Service”. Looking forward to this CD.
