‘Showbiz Tonight’ Examines The Jonas Brothers Virginity Pledge
‘Showbiz Tonight’ host A.J. Hammer talked with Star magazine’s Ben Widdicombe and Rachel Zalis of Life & Style magazine about the Jonas Brothers being mocked by MTV Video Music Awards host Russell Brand for their purity rings, as well as Jessica Simpson’s do-over on live TV during her performance on ‘Good Morning America’. “Well, I hate to say it, A.J., but I’m with Russell Brand before he apologized,” Widdicombe remarked. “I mean, The Jonas Brothers are sweet kids and all. But really, I do not believe for one second that all three of them are going to be virgins on their wedding night.” But Zalis disagreed a bit. “I think it is nice to have young guys that are inspirational role models to the teens,” she said. “I mean, it is a very schizophrenic time right now to be a teen. There’s ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘90210′. It’s very sexy, those shows. And here, you have these guys that they really look up to and you know, coming out very vocally about how that’s important to them.” Watch the segment, aired Tuesday (September 9), below.
