Simon Cowell Denounces Gay Rumors

The Sunday People reports ‘Pop Idol’ judge Simon Cowell has slammed reports he is gay and fantasizes about men. Howard Stern “outed” him, while Graham Norton fueled rumors, saying Mr. Nasty was “one of us”. But Cowell insisted he’s had 70 to 100 girlfriends. He said, “I’ve never fantasized about men.”

June 22, 2003 – The Sunday People reports Simon Cowell lived up to his reputation as Mr. Nasty judging a contestant in the second season of ‘Pop Idol’. Cowell raised one lad’s hopes by telling him to wait for him. A full 90 minutes later Simon waltzed out, saying: “You wasted my time, so I wasted yours. Goodbye.”

‘Idol’ Vehicles Won’t Get Them Far

June 22, 2003 – Wesley Morris of the Boston Globe reviewed ‘From Justin to Kelly’ and said of the and Kelly Clarkson starring debut: “Anyone who plunks down $10 to see them sing plays the fool.” Morris added that the film had “been made without a lick of love, skill, or, apparently, money. ‘American Idol’ judge Randy Jackson is more attractive than this movie.”

June 22, 2003 – Daphne Gordon of the Toronto Star reviewed ‘From Justin to Kelly’, giving the film debut of ‘American Idol’ stars Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson 1 star. Gordon advises ‘Idol’ fans to “save yourself the price of a movie ticket and buy the soundtrack instead.”
