Simon Cowell Explains Plans For ‘American Idol’ Winner

Ryan Seacrest of Extra TV chatted with ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell on what happens when the show crowns the winner. “I’ll start work with them three weeks before the end of the show,” he explained. “We’ve got two songs already written and I’ll record that song with the three finalists. I’ll make three sets of master tapes. I’ll have a factory on stand-by. The night the person has won, we’ll press button a, b, or c.” Video has since been removed.

No matter who wins, it’s safe to say based on what happened in the UK, and the show’s popularity, that you’ll see albums from several of the final 10.
