The role of Daisy Duke was a role for a big personality, but that’s not what ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ director Jay Chandrasekhar and producer Bill Gerber saw early on in the audition process when Jessica Simpson walked in. “The truth is she would come in and did some auditions and they were quiet and small,” Chandrasekhar tells The Daily Telegraph. “They weren’t bad, but they were quiet, nervous and shy. I said ‘What’s going on?’ She said ‘I’m fu**ing scared’. I said ‘You’re not going to get the part unless you smile and you have to be charming. You already are charming so why don’t you just be like you are. Try smiling in these four places when you do it next time’.” The full story at news.com.au has since been removed.
