The Singapore Tourism Board honored Ricky Martin by naming a yellow orchid speckled with crimson spots after him, reports the Associated Press. “Hello, sexy, how are you?” the 31-year-old singer asked the dainty flower during the naming ceremony Friday at Singapore’s downtown Botanical Gardens. “You’re supposed to talk to your plants, right?”

Congratulations to Ricky for this honor. He is in great company because the other orchids named after important people were Nelson Mandela and Princes Diana. And yet again the stupid media managed to twist his words. He didn’t say “Hello sexy” to the plant. He said “Hi beautiful. how are you? you are so nice…You’re supposed to talk to your plants, right?” What a great sense of humor he has!
