A music industry insider tells The New York Post reports don’t buy Christina Aguilera’s explanation of strained vocal cords for cancelling her summer tour with Chingy. “People strain their vocal chords all the time,” the insider said. “There are treatments they give, and people usually take a week or two off, but never have they canceled a three-month tour.” The real culprit, the insider notes, is “slow ticket sales. Her shows were only selling at 40 to 60 percent capacity. She needs a hit album to reboost her fan base.”
