Sony BMG To Pay $10 Million To Settle Spitzer Probe

Bloomberg reports that Sony BMG Music Entertainment is paying a $10 million settlement and will end “pay-to-play” practices to resolve a New York state investigation of payola in the music industry, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer announced Monday. “Our investigation shows that, contrary to listener expectations that songs are selected for airplay based on artistic merit and popularity, air time is often determined by undisclosed payoffs to radio stations and their employees,” Spitzer said in the statement. “This agreement is a model for breaking the pervasive influence of bribes in the industry.”

What a shame to all of them! I swear to God, I’ll never allow myself to be a part of their game, never over my dead body. Even, if you offer me, $20 billion to participate in such activity, I’d better die than selling my soul, please. I want to go ho heaven the rest of my life with clean image, please. Please people, you have no more credibility at all, you can’t be trusted, forever, there are always snakes just for the sake of money, fame, popularity, power, etc. You should be punished by God of what you’re doing. I just can’t take it anymore, oh God, this is so unfair. They can have all their dirt of empire, but, I swear to God, you can never buy my dignity/principle, never over my dead body. I’m gonna slap of those dirty money in all their faces, I want to shout, I can no longer bear this on God. So much greediness in around the globe. It breaks my heart, oh God. Why oh why? At least, I’m not one of those, I’m so happy and very proud, as God is my only witness, thank God, forever, there are still few decent people left around the globe, and I’m one of those, as God is my witness, at least I’m honest, never pretend. Thank you, all!! Keep it always real, never pretend, please. God bless us all!!

  5. fandango says:

and you thought they played music on stations because people WANTED to hear it? LOL!! Isn’t it odd that they virtually discontinued playing Britney Spears for about 11 months now. Interesting timing.

  6. lilla says:

i just gotta boycott sony now, cant help myself!

  7. manwithaplan94 says:

Only way boycotting them would help would be if no one in the whole wide world never ever bought any Sony product ever again. That would include all the other companies related to Sony too. Sorry folks but that just ain’t happening. We are dealing with a multi billion to zillion dollar conglomerate here and nine times out of ten the big dog always wins. This 10 million dollars, protests and possible boycotts they will just shake off like flees on a dog’s back. As I said earlier all of this is just a walk in the park to them.
