Sophie Ellis-Bextor Ditching Disco

Contributed by BeccaUK:

Sophie Ellis-Bextor scored major UK hits with upbeat tracks like ‘Take Me Home’ and ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’. Now though, the sound that made Sophie a star could be over, according to Sky New, the singer plans to move away from the disco vibe that brought her fame. She told a source: “I would like to return to my indie roots. As much as I love disco I also like playing live and creating a song.” But fans need not be too upset – Sophie’s record label won’t be letting her stray too far. After all, her debut album ‘Read My Lips’ – which was pure pop – sold over a million copies across Europe.
