The Sun reports that after Melanie Chisholm was reportedly dropped from her record label, plans for a Spice Girls greatest hits album are back on. Plans are for a release during Christmas ’04 and will include nine #1 hits from the group. No decision has yet been made about recording a new track to promote the CD, though there is talk of a one-time only reunion gig to promote the album. “This was discussed at the Spice summit a year ago. Four of them didn’t rule it out but Mel C was reluctant,” an insider said. “She didn’t want to let go of the last vestiges of a solo career. That’s gone down the pan now so they have OK’d it.”
