Spin Reviews Britney Spears Album ‘In The Zone’

Spin magazine reviewed ’ latest album ‘In The Zone’, giving it a B-. They write, “‘In The Zone’s’ first single, ‘Me Against The Music,’ is a fine specimen of Britney 4.0–fast paced danced anthem, all grinding percussion shutting through a traffic jam of synths. Most of the record’s up-tempo bangers trace the single’s footsteps, bopping raucously without slipping into chintzy faux rock or flavorless hip-hop.” Read more.

Is she trying to imitate Madonna’s past career??? that’s sad. even for her. you can’t recreate art. Britney is nothing but a follower and a copycat. in other words….Britney is so unoriginal.

I can’t wait to pick up this album. It’s gonna be hot.

Oh man I’m getting more and more excited for this album everyday. A B-minus is a really good score…and before all you Britney haters start claiming that a B-minus is a bad score, just remember that ‘Stripped’ didn’t even get that. It got a C+…I guess there goes your theory on how Christina is more respected than Britney in the industry.

Spin usually isn’t kind to pop acts and gives them horrible reviews. For Britney to get a good review from them is excellent.

Isn’t SPIN magazine one of the highest respected music magazines or something? And, isn’t it mostly rock orientated? That being said, this passes as a terrific review. I’m so stoked for this CD already. Can’t wait to hear “Toxic” and ‘Early Mornin'” from their descriptions. And “TOMH”…and “BOM”, lol. All killer, no filler baby! “Most of the record’s up-tempo bangers trace the single’s footsteps, bopping raucously without slipping into chintzy faux rock or flavorless hip-hop.” lol, seems like a little dig at a certain someone. :-0 Either way, it’s so true, I’m so glad Britney embraced different and fresh styles with this album. It seems as if this CD will gain Britney some hard earned respect from critics, but it doesn’t matter either way cause this album is gonna kick ass. I couldn’t help laughing at their grading of ‘Stripped’. Granted, it’s not far off from Britney’s grading, but it’s so funny how Christina fans go on to say how Christina gets respected by this person and this person (blah blah) and then Britney comes out and gets a better review from such a highly established magazine. What a slap to the face. Does it burn?

Maybe Christina would have gotten better reivews if critics actually listened to the whole CD, instead of falling asleep halfway. I think we’ve found a cure for insomnia.

One magazine is nothing. it doesn’t mean everybody’s critique is gonna be based on this one. that’s not the way it goes. there’s already been some pretty nasty reviews on her album… don’t hold your breath Britney fans. a good review for Britney is like a needle in a haystack…..they won’t pop up that easily…especially seeing how this one was half good and half bad.

  7. babet says:

Doing pop music during these ages in music is getting pretty difficult. not bad for Christina….. She’s matured with the times. Britney is still stuck on doing a remake of Slave 4 U.

I saw more bad stuff said than good stuff being said…. with THAT said…giving it a b- is kind of weird!! We’ll just have to see what everyone else says…. But I can’t imagine with words like “yawn” and “missteps” and “bore” being in a review that an album can be any good! And yes, it got a better grade than “Stripped”…. BIG DEAL! Probably a different person reviewing it, seeing that they probably have more than one! I know how this goes….when I was a senior, I went to contest and came home with a II rating….when ANY OTHER JUDGE in the building that day would have given me a I+…..it’s all who you get and how THEY are that day.

  9. rachel says:

“Stripped” go an A, dumbasses. Please this people must be deaf, if I was them I will give the single a D+, and coming from Britney, her best album will probably a B+

  10. BabyBlue2578 says:

Maybe I’m missing something, but overall, that was not a good review. He basically says the album sucks, but gives it a B-. Or is that a good thing? And he says nothing about her contribution to the music. It’s all about the beats. What about her “singing” and “writing?”

  11. Spearsworld says:

A “b” from Spin mag? That’s pretty outstanding seeing as they are a rock mag that generally hates Britney. That speaks pretty strongly of her album, and although the rating they gave her is only a little better than lukewarm, you’ll notice they really didn’t have anything bad to say about it. Also, contrary to that other review somebody posted, the critic said “she holds her own,” meaning she can match her producers. Good job Britney. I cannot wait for this album. It sounds like it will b classic Britney, but something like we have never heard. I can’t wait to hear every song. There has been so much talk about her new album that I already know the names of all the songs on the CD and an idea of how each is gonna sound. Nov. 18th will not get here soon enough!
