Stars Looking Like Other Stars

Maybe it’s just me, but I find that nowadays many stars are basing their image and looks on other stars that came before them. I was watching BET this week, and the video for the Fighting Temptations came on, and I was shocked over how Beyonce Knowles looked like Jennifer Lopez. I had seen an article in Us Weekly relating to this a few months back but hadn’t given it much thought. Beyonce’s clothes, hair, style, growing “booty” all say J.Lo to me. I’m not talking talent here people, just image and looks. The same goes for Pink, who in her most recent video, is looking more and more like Gwen Stefani. The original blond hairdos, the blood red lips, the rocker chick attitude…It’s almost uncanny. I could go on but this will probably get people talking enough without me going into how I think Britney Spears is copying Christina Aguilera, Ashanti copying Janet Jackson, And pretty much every pop star trying to copy Madonna’s style attitude and career. I wish pop stars would find their own image and style, and not all melt into one supposed “it” style. Originality is the spice of life and I for one wish all stars had very different images that are theirs alone!
