Fans of No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani are weighing in on criticism of her use of Harajuku Girls by comedian Margaret Cho on No Doubt’s official site forum. GwenStefaniFan writes, “I have to say that I understand her point. They are basically little Asian puppets that are paid by Gwen to stand there and look cute, but never speak because they are part of her dream or fantasy or whatever. I don’t personally find them offensive, but I can see how someone might find them offensive, especially someone like Margaret Cho who is a smart, successful Asian actress and comedian.” But Rude*Girl argued, “Let’s not forget that the Harajuku Girls KNEW what their job was gonna be before they took it.”
