In an interview with Time Off magazine, Sum 41 drummer Steve Jocz insisted that his bandmate Deryck Whibley’s marriage to Avril Lavigne hasn’t had a detrimental effect on the band in any way. “To be honest I think they’re good at not turning it into an issue,” he explained. “I mean, I’m happy that Deryck’s happy and in love. If she was a coalminer, I’d be happy – she could be a rockstar, or she could be anything else, it’s fine. This is just something that is obviously going to be focused on and I think they handle it very well.
