Stone: Carey’s Bit Of An Idiot, Lame, Pathetic & Stupid, But Quite Nice

Joss Stone spoke with Radio 2 about meeting backstage at Live 8 on Saturday in London. “[Mariah] does come across as a bit of an idiot on TV, but she’s actually quite nice,” Stone said. “She’s all smiley and really lovely.” As for Mariah’s “this is my new single” shenanigans at the concert before performing ‘We Belong Together’, Stone said, “I didn’t want to sing my single because that’s really lame and pathetic and stupid and not what it’s all about.”

I agree… live8 isn’t a place to plug your latest. It should be about heart and compassion. God Joss sounds like a mature woman for her age.

If Joss had the current #1 song in the USA, she would have sang it too…’, ‘But like Madonna…. jealousy and hatred get you no where…

WHERE WAS JOSS IN THE FINALE??? OH… ***** DIDN’T STICK AROUND HUH??? SHOWS HOW MUCH SHE CARED. MARIAH HAD THE AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR WITH HER, HAD A WHITE “ONE” BRACELET ON, STAYED UNTIL THE END, HUGGED AND KISSED THE KIDS. SHE REALLY CARES… ITS IN HER MUSIC! **Very Appropriate for Live8**: Mariah Carey

JUST ADMIT DEFEAT. MARIAH IS BETTER THAN MADONNA.

no joss picked picked something from the heart… she isn’t as commercial and concerned with publicity and attention.

yep music does make the people come together…’, ‘or how about from ray of light? Zephyr in the sky at night I wonder Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the sun She’s got herself a universe gone quickly For the call of thunder threatens everyone Faster than the speeding light she’s flying Trying to remember where it all began She’s got herself a little piece of heaven Waiting for the time when Earth shall be as one. or Like a Prayer? Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone I hear you call my name And it feels like home When you call my name it’s like a little prayer I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there In the midnight hour I can feel your power Just like a prayer you know I’ll take you there I hear your voice, it’s like an angel sighing I have no choice, I hear your voice Feels like flying I close my eyes, oh God I think I’m falling Out of the sky, I close my eyes Heaven help me Like a child you whisper softly to me You’re in control just like a child Now I’m dancing It’s like a dream, no end and no beginning You’re here with me, it’s like a dream Let the choir sing Just like a prayer, your voice can take me there Just like a muse to me, you are a mystery Just like a dream, you are not what you seem Just like a prayer, no choice your voice can take me there Just like a prayer, I’ll take you there It’s like a dream to me yep more poignant, touching, and all around better writing mariah had the african choir added on at the last second (sounds pretty desperate to me for a good performance) people like you give mariah a bad name

Mental Whoriah using Live8 as promotion campaign’, ‘How pathetic of Whoriah to use a charity event for publicity stunts. Thankfully Madonna did not join the fat ass in the finale. The ho was trying to stay as long as possible to see if she can strip again on tv. And it’s time for lame-hos to buy more singles again.

Personally I’m sick of hearing the opinions of Charlotte Church and Joss Stone. It seems like all they do is criticize everyone else. I’m never seen anyone praise them either.

Actually, in the exact quote in the article, Joss doesn’t comment on ANY other artist – she merely said she wasn’t going to sing HER new single, period. If Joss Stone said she didn’t like lima beans, and the writer found some other artist who loved lima beans, would they print a headline “Joss Stone slams for eating lima beans” ? At an event like that, where each act is only doing a few songs, it makes sense to stick to what the public wants to hear. In some cases it might be a song from 30 years ago, in other cases it might be a current #1 hit. Not everybody in the audience has fond memories of 1985 – many weren’t even born yet.
