Perhaps the biggest winner so far in this year’s ‘American Idol’ isn’t any of the contestants, but Frederick Jenkins, who owns 205 Flava Inc. Each week Ruben Studdard has been wearing variations of the ‘205’ Birmingham, Alabama jersey, and the attention has brought him 400 orders a week on shirts that range between $150-$200 each. “Before Ruben, we got a few calls here and there,” he said. “Now there are kids in Idaho and Miami and Detroit wearing 205. It’s a little weird actually, but everyone wants what Ruben’s got.” Check out Jenkins’ merchandise at 205flava.com.

The show had disqualified contestant Corey Clark for allegedly beating his kid sister, and eliminating two contestants in one week would have had dire financial impact… cutting the top rated reality series short one week.
