What do you think of when you hear the name Aaron Carter? Aaron, at the tender age of sixteen has had the most number one hits for his age. In Britain, having the most consecutive top ten hits landed him in the Guinness Book of World Records. Music has always been in his family. His brother Nick Carter, used to be part of the extremely popular group the Backstreet Boys.
In March of 1997, when Aaron was only nine, BSB was on tour in Germany and had a show in Berlin. Aaron attended that concert with his family and hung out with his brother and four group mates backstage. They all pushed him onstage and began to sing. Even though the crowd did not know who he was, they went wild as he sung his first single “Crush on you.” That one performance changed his life forever. When the concert was over, an executive from Edel America Records approached Aaron and his parents offering a record contract. Aaron happily accepted.
Aaron’s popularity soon began to rocket. With that, Jive Records, home of *NSYNC, Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys jumped into give Aaron a record contract. After he signed, they quickly began recording Aaron’s first CD that would be released in the United States. Fist titled, “Aaron’s Party (Come With It)”, they quickly changed it to “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”. When they finished the recording process, Aaron and his mother/manger Jane Carter, began to film the five videos that can be seen on the VHS Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) – the videos. He gained a huge group of new fans.
He has toured with the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, 98(degrees), No Authority, EYC, and Tatyana Ali. “I don’t want to be known for being Nick Carter’s younger brother. It doesn’t bother me but I want to be known for me. He has helped me so much and I would’ve never gotten a record deal if it weren’t for him. And I wouldn’t want to be a singer if he wasn’t.” Aaron said to Teen Beat.
Fast forward to the present. Aaron has recently released his sixth album that has all of his most popular singles and three new songs titled “One Better” a very sweet ballad, “My Shorty” fast up-tempo song, and “She Wants Me” featuring his big bro Nick, which also appears on Milton Bradley’s Twister Moves.
Mr. Carter has gained a whole group of fans – young and old. He has had many sold-out tours. The most recent – Jukebox Tour, where he performed his favorite songs and a few of his. He sang songs from Journey, Michael Jackson, and many others. No one has ever done a tour, so unique like that before. It was thrilling. But during his tour, there were family troubles. I will not get into major detail with them but his parents are going through a very hard divorce. Then, just a few weeks ago, he fired his mother, who was his manager since the age of nine, because she took a quarter of a million dollars from his bank account with out his knowledge. He and his father Robert are currently seeking new management for Aaron.
Aaron is now returning to the thing that he started doing before singing – acting. Don’t worry he will still be a singer. Right now he is filming an action movie called Future Force, where he plays the younger hero. The filming is said to take place in Australia. The movie is due out in 2005.
Aaron has done many incredible things so far and he is only SIXTEEN. I am sure there is a lot more great things to come from ‘The Prince of Pop.”
