Alison Sudol of checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Saturday (November 7), discussing her current tour with Landon Pigg and Among the Oak and the Ash. The 24-year-old writes:

Hello from Missoula, Montana. Today was a beautiful day and Missoula was a beautiful place to spend it in. We walked by the river, bundled up in our winter coats and scarves to protect our thin California skins, drank hot drinks and ate lovely pumpkin-y things, and all in all enjoyed ourselves very much.

Tomorrow we arrive in Seattle, fly to Napa, play a few acoustic songs at a vineyard (thank you KZZU!), then back to my hometown to continue the tour.

Oh, the tour.

It has been so wonderful… except getting the bloody plague at the beginning. Atlanta fans, I’m not sure exactly what’s happening to make up for that show, but I want you to know I haven’t forgotten you and I am truly sorry. If I had been able to perform that night, I would have been on stage, but I simply couldn’t. sometimes, the body simply will not comply.

Alison talked about the recording process, how songwriting is the favorite part, adopting more of a folk influence on the project, not being the kind of person to go out and get drunk, and how missing her family is the hardest part about being on the road. I can tell you the album title and the official release date now!

The record is called “Bomb in a Birdcage” and will be out September 8th! I can’t WAIT for you to hear it!

A Fine Frenzy Featured On FOTC’s ‘Girlfriends From The Past’

’s Alison Sudol updated fans on her blog at MySpace on Sunday (February 15), discussing ‘Girlfriends From The Past’, a song she and several other female artists teamed up with Jemaine Clement on for HBO’s ‘Flight of the Conchords’. The video can be viewed at YouTube. Sudol tells readers:

Hiiiiiiiiii!!!! I’m so silly, I entirely forgot to blog about something very very important… you know when you’re so focused on not forgetting something that it slips your mind completely? how does that work??

Well, I’m a huge fan of the wonderful show on HBO, FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS (caps for emphasis! it’s that good!) and I had the ENORMOUS pleasure of getting to sing a song with some super rad girls (Sia and Inara George, to name a few) which aired on this evening’s episode, directed by one of my favorite directors, Michel Gondry. That’s a run-on sentence, I know, but I’m sleeeeeeepppy so you must forgive me. The song is called… hmm… I don’t know… it’s a bunch of Jermaine’s ex-girlfriends singing in a choir. It was hard not to laugh when we were recording… It’s on sale on iTunes tomorrow, so if you want to give it a good old-fashioned listen, that’s where it will be!
