Alanis Morissette Album An ‘Acceptance Of All Parts’

KRT spoke with ahead of today’s release of her latest album ‘Under Rug Swept’. The singer described her latest effort saying, “On this record, there’s an integration that’s going on, an acceptance of all parts. I don’t feel like there’s a shadow side of myself that has to be fragmented and cut off in order for me to be acceptable or loved. So there’s kind of an inclusion of all parts on this record, which feels much more complete to me.”

‘Under Rug Swept’ Ripped By Farber

Jim Farber of the New York Daily News gave his thoughts on upcoming release Tuesday, ‘Under Rug Swept’. Farber blasted of the album following her disappointment that presented herself as a tower of New Age wisdom, “On her third album she’s back to her bread and butter – bitching about men and complaining about her body, elaborated in the most tortured phrases and deformed melodies imaginable.”

Alanis Felt Nobody Gave A Sh** About New Album

Lucy McGregor of Juice.net spoke with about the pressure she had for her new album, but Alanis revealed, “With the follow-up to ‘Jagged Little Pill’, everywhere I went – grocery stores, anywhere – the question of, ‘When is it coming out?’ was posed to me. It’s a harmless enough question but it was really oppressive. [Laughs] But with this record I felt that no-one really gave a sh**, and that elicits an amazing freedom.”

Alanis Morissette Taking It To The Next Level

was on Extra TV Wednesday to talk about her ‘comeback’ album ‘Under Rug Swept’ that she says came about after conversation with Maverick Record label founder Madonna that recharged her move to continue in music. Alanis said of the new disc, “It’s not just about being angry anymore. It’s about taking it to the next level and taking a little more responsibility these days.” As for what’s next for the singer who’s getting great reviews on the new album, “I feel like I haven’t begun really. I feel like my life has been one giant appetizer so far and I’m still cooking.” ‘Under Rug Swept’ drops on Tuesday.

Alanis Morissette Understands ‘Comeback’ Label

Elysa Gardner of USA Today spoke with about adjusted expectations following the huge success of ‘Jagged Little Pill’, the disappointment of ‘Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie’, and being touted as a comeback with ‘Hands Clean’. Morissette understands the labelling saying, “It’s understandable if people are speaking in relative terms. Alanis Morissette Admits To Sexual Experimenting With Women

Gary Mulholland of the Scotsman talked with who opened up about her bisexuality during a meeting at a London Hotel. Alanis said, “I definitely love women and, you know … I’ve had some great connections.” The singer added, “There are moments when I think about the trials and tribulations I’ve had with men and I just think, oh, it would be much easier with women, and I still think that now. Nelly Furtado & Alanis Morissette Added To Olympic Bill

AP reports and have been added to the list of entertainers for the medals plaza concert series at the Olympic Winter Games. A different musical act will perform each night between Feb. 9-24. Furtado is scheduled to take the stage on Monday,February 18 while Morissette appears on Thursday, February 21. The games are televised on NBC in the U.S.
