Alanis Morissette Performs ‘Ironic’, ‘Thank U’ & ‘Underneath’ On ‘Today’
Alanis Morissette visited the 'Today' show on Friday (May 23), performing her 1996 hit 'Ironic', the 1998 release 'Thank U', and the new single 'Underneath'. Alanis also spoke with co-host Matt Lauer about her upcoming release 'Flavors of Entanglement', writing the album in real-time this time, the album being referred to as a "comeback" album, and how finally going back into the studio was like starting a new workout regimine. Alanis Morissette is out with the video for her new single 'Underneath', following the Canadian singer songwriter on a journey that shows the parallels between saving the world and saving the heart. Alanis Morissette Sets June 10th Release For ‘Flavors Of Entanglement’
Alanis Morissette has announced a June 10th release for her new album 'Flavors Of Entanglement'. Co-written and produced by Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Imogen Heap), the album is Morissette's first original studio release in four years. "I often write in retrospect, but this was written in real time," Alanis said in a press release. "This record helped me through some fragile moments. Every song was like a life raft."
"There's not another artist-male or female-who can take you on the kind of emotional journey that Alanis can," Sigsworth said. "She has this ginormous, super-massive, planet-eating emotional range. She goes all the way-10 on the Richter Scale-and we're at the epicenter with her as she sings whole worlds into existence. She can be raging and hostile, distraught and desolately heartbroken, glowingly nostalgic, sensual, breezy and self-deprecating-all in one album."
Morissette will be hitting the road in June for a worldwide tour that begins in Europe, to be followed by a headlining North American run in the fall.

Alanis Morissette Touring January, New Album Early April
Alanis Morissette posted a MySpace video talking about her upcoming plans. The singer/songwriter is going on tour in January with matchbox twenty and plans to release a new album in April. "A great snapshot of the last year," Morissette said. Also in the pipeline is a new book, which she plans on writing over the next year or two. As for her personal life, the 33-year-old stated, "I've probably never been happier." Watch it below.
