Pupils at Sandhurst School sang ‘Fake’ to win Alex Roots prizes, with the pop singer emceeing the competition. Roots also performed her next single ‘Don’t Stop Looking’. Watch the two clips via YouTube below.
Alex Roots checked in with fans on her official web site on Tuesday (May 5), talking about a visit to the nutritionist and performing at schools. The British pop singer writes:
Looking forward to going on a tour of schools in a couple of weeks. I went to Swindon last week to do a couple of schools. I was dead nervous because being a moody teenager myself I know how a girl in front of you singing on a day at school is not the most attractive prospect. So thank you lovely people of Swindon for not biting my head off! And for really accepting and supporting me, it was great to meet you guys and hang out!

Alex Roots updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Thursday (April 23), talking about her experience opening for McFly in Wolverhampton on Tuesday night. The 16-year-old pop singer writes:
So after my radio interview me and the gang (Gary, Dad, Justine) (<— VERY GLAMOROUS ENTOURAGE!) went and had some lunch and then made our way to Wolverhampton Civic Hall! It was crazy, there were some die hard fans who had been camping all night so that they could get a spot right at the front! I got my little McFly badge (which I am keeping forever by the way) and went into the venue where McFly were sound checking! I NEARLY CRIED, IT WAS LIKE A PRIVATE SHOW!!!! I got so over excited by the fact that McFly were so close performing to me... (WELL PROB NOT TO ME, PROBABLY TO THE VERY IMPORTANT MEMBERS OF THEIR TEAM WHO DEAL WITH THE SOUND... BUT I AM GOING TO CHOOSE TO IGNORE THAT!) that I took a photo and nearly got removed from the Hall.. Oh dear, not a good start for the Roots team I admit, but what can a gal do hey?So I went to my dressing room ... I had to walk past McFly's dressing room to get to mine! Did my sound Check and Danny watched the whole time (NO PRESSURE) Got changed and before I did my slot I went and met the band in their dressing room... They were such nice Guys and wished me the best of luck and said that they would try and watch from the side :)
Alex Roots updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Monday (April 6), talking about rehearsing and a TV appearance on Tuesday. The ‘Fake’ singer writes:
So what juicy gossip have I got to tell you… Tough one! I have just been busy at ‘work’…. Rehearsing a lot.. I am so so so excited about my own show at the Cherry Jam! Hurry up and book tickets because today is Monday and the show is on Wednesday! So far I have heard a lot of people I know are gonna pitch up so it should be pretty busy… And if you decide on the day maybe you wanna come support me… Don’t fear you can buy tickets on the door! I also do my own show on the 22nd too…
SO 519 show tomorrow… Make sure you all tune in.. A live broadcast… eek! I am performing ‘Fake’ and ‘Don’t Stop Looking’ acoustically. And I shall also be chatting on the ‘couch’ as they say for about twenty mins!
Alex Roots checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Sunday (March 22), talking about gigs and interviews. The ‘Fake’ singer writes:
My gig on Thursday went really well @ the Notting Hill Arts Club! My microphone didn’t disconnect half way through a song like last time I performed there, so you could say it was a good night!
I had an interview for The Guardian and also Attitude Mag on Friday which was pretty cool! They shall both be out around the same time as my limited single ‘Fake’ in April so look out! Was so embarrassing because for the Guardian I had to have my photo taken, in the middle of Camden! Everyone was staring at me as they were walking past me getting photographed with my vanilla and Nutella milkshake! TOO good for words I tell you.
Alex Roots is out with the music video to her new single ‘Fake’, the first release off the British pop rock singer’s debut album ‘Adrenaline Rush’, out later this year on Good Groove.
Roots writes on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic): “I had such a laugh filming it and I hope it comes across in the vid. And now, maybe you can get a hint of ‘Ginaaa’ who I keep mentioning!”
Watch it below.
Alex Roots checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Thursday (January 29), talking about a long day filming her ‘Fake’ video. The UK pop singer writes:
So yesterday on 28th I shot my music video for ‘Fake’ and it was the one of the BEST days of my little little life! It was an 18 hour day, but I kept strong with coffee and bananas! We took loads of videos and we are going to attempt editing them on Tuesday so that you can see all the behind the scenes footage! I won’t tell you what happens in the actual video yet because hopefully we will have my music video within two weeks! So you can find out then!
All I will say is this….. There were dogs, snakes, disco balls and lots of eye lashes!
Alex Roots checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Monday (January 12). The UK pop singer, readying her debut album ‘Adrenaline Rush’, tells readers:
Happy New Year you beautiful people.
Bring on 2009…..
Thought I would post a little blog for those of you who read them (which is probably only my Nan, hey Nan, love ya). I had a great Christmas and New Year, I was ill, but who hasn’t been ill! Santa was good to me, as usual, I was a very good girl in 2008! I just can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. Ryan, my song-writing partner in crime, went and spent the coldest winter I think known to man in Australia! Everyone I work with flew off to some exotic country and I have been in freezing Bromley, joyful!
As you can see I have added all my new gig dates, thanks to everyone who came last year. I shall be promoting and doing a limited release of Fake around March time, making a little music video for it too. Hopefully the album will be released around June, It’s called Adrenaline Rush. Right now June feels so long away! I hope people like it!
The whole new electro pop scene is everywhere at the moment. There are pop princesses everywhere! Little Boots, Florence and the Machine, La Roux, Santogold, M.I.A, Ladyhawke, VVBrown, Lady Gaga! HERE COME THE GIRLS….. I feel like I fit into this scene but that my stuff is still totally different.
Thanks for all the lovely messages I got over the break, you’re all wicked.
Keep your fingers crossed. And your legs crossed. And your arms crossed. And anything else you can cross…… for me.
Alex Roots updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@alexrootsmusic) on Sunday (December 21). The UK pop singer tells readers:
Tis the season to be jolly! Ho ho hoooooo
I have been so stressed out with Christmas shopping, didn’t realize how hard it is… the shops are so busy, the customers are all stressed and I always end up having some sort of heated convo with a shopper who barged into me! The thing that scares me the most is the people coming up to you in shops asking you if you need help, I always feel really bad when I say no, but really shopping is stressful enough as it is without your scary face coming up to me all the time!!!!!!
Tried going in to see Santa in the grotto in Bromley, they said I was too old, I mean who is too old for Santa!!!
