MySpace Artist on Artist Ft. Vanessa Hudgens & Aly Michalka

Vanessa Hudgens and Aly Michalka‘Bandslam’ co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Aly Michalka interviewed each other for MySpace’s Artist on Artist, talking about meeting in auditions, what inspired the 78violet singer for her character, how music moves people, Baby V missing out on the laser tag fun during filming, Aly’s advice for fans who may want to get involved in showbiz, and their style.

“We’re like such different characters in this movie, which is cool,” Aly said. “It’s funny because we don’t have that many scenes together, but we hung out a lot on the set, and we shopped a lot.”

On the inspiration for her character Charlotte, Aly said, “I kind of envisioned someone that I would want to be friends with, that I would want to lead my band. If there was a girl in school I would want to be friends with, the ultimate girl would be Charlotte. She’s cool, she’s outgoing, and there’s definitely a bit of me in there, but at the same time, I had to pull from other experiences when it comes to her dad going through cancer and dealing with his death. I listened to a lot of sad music when we were doing those emotional scenes.”
