Annie updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@anniemusic) on Friday (October 24). The Norwegian pop singer tells readers:
I’ve been writing some songs. I’ve actually been really inspired lately. Had a lot of stress with some boring business stuff… I hate that, but I guess you just got to do it… but it was just so annoying, that I got lots of inspiration. Maybe that sounds little bit strange. But I really think that sometimes, if I tend to struggle with things.. I get inspired. hehe. That’s me…
So later today I will program some beats… been borrowing this drum machine. So that’s what I’m up to today. Doing them beats.
Had a couple of DJ gigs too. Did a really fun gig in Bergen last Saturday at a small venue called Edvard. Played together with Skatebård… the man. He’s got a club evening called DIGITALO. Was really fun… he’s into Italodisco, brilliant DJ. And I played lot of different stuff… So dubstep, disco, some early Madonna tracks… and yeah.. it was great.

Sitting on a flight to London… drinking some apple juice, and trying not to fall asleep. Got up bit before 5 this morning. Had to wait for a couple of hours at the airport, because my flight was cancelled… British Airways in the house. But what can you do… at least the apple juice is extremely good!!
This week I’m going to a studio in London, will be working some new songs… I’m really excited. Been writing some lyrics, and have lots of ideas bout the production… yehaaaa… will tell more later.

How are you? I just came back to Berlin, HOME SWEET HOME… It was really humid and extremely warm when I arrived… but the second I went out from the airport… it started raining… why… I ask myself … why? Maybe Bergen is missing my presence. So it keeps on reminding me of what Bergen is mostly known for….rain :-)
I just been to Oslo… was there for 3 days. Did lots of press. 2 long photo shoots for a magazine called Costume, and a cover shoot for a mag called Ãnside… Went to an island outside Oslo, called Nesodden and did the pix there. There was so many bees there… I was trying to do some poses, but the bees came after me.. at some point it must have been about 35 of them… well maybe I should take it as a compliment, I’m sweet as candy, hahahha… or maybe the smell of my lip gloss… well scary killer bees they were…
Annie checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@anniemusic) on Thursday (July 24) after returning to London. “Last Saturday we played the first gig in Norway this time,” the Norwegian singer writes. “It was in a small city called TÃ.nsberg. I guess it must have been about 4000 people watching.. and it went really well. So much fun. It’s probably 1 1/2 years since I played Norway, so I was really excited about it… It’s also bit funny, because we mostly play new songs that the audience never heard before… I tend to forget about that. You sort of want people to go MAD and sing along to every single song. But can’t really expect that when they haven’t heard 70% of them, can you…”
While continuing to recover from an illness which sidelined her from a London show on Thursday night at Cargo, Annie checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@anniemusic) on Friday. “Not too much has been happening the last couple of days,” Annie writes. “I’m still in the countryside, where my mum lives… Had some psychedelic fever dreams.. and been trying to make a new song, but my voice sounds more like some depressed black metal singer then Annie… So I realized that maybe it’s better to just make the music, and do the singing some other day…. yes sir!”
Annie apologized to fans on her blog at MySpace on Thursday (July 10) after cancelling her Wonky Pop performance tonight at Cargo in London. “Woke up this morning… still feeling ill,” she writes. “Oh nooo…..really boring. Went to my doctor, and she told me I have a throat infection, and littlebit of fever… Sickness is a fact. So some bad news..I had to cancel the show Thursday at Cargo/London. Really really sad about this. I was looking so much forward to play there. But I’ve almost lost my voice, so what can I do!! I’m so sorry about this… hopefully I’ll get much better.. and maybe never sick again… x my fingers!!! So for you that was gonne come and see me play… I feel very bad… but I promise to be back soon… all fresh n new:-)”
Annie checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@anniemusic) on Saturday (July 5), where the Norwegian pop star talked about the story behind her new single ‘I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me’. “This was actually one of the first songs I wrote for this album,” she writes. “I had a period of time where I was listening a lot to Prince… and I had this idea about making a song where the drums and the guitar would be a little bit like ‘Kiss’. Of course it ended being nothing like Prince… but that’s where the inspiration came from. A bit snappy….and rude:-) I’m not gonna tell the whole story about the lyrics, because I like to keep a little bit to the imagination of the listeners… but it’s based on a true story. I have a friend of mine that is a very beautiful attractive, funny smart girl…. she’s always surrounded by loads of guys…. but one of the guys had a girlfriend that was not too happy with the situation… and rang her door saying ‘you better leave my boy alone girl… or I’ll break you’… I’ve been going through something similar myself, so I thought, hmm…. seems to me like a lot of people relate to situations like that…… I’ll write a song about it.”
Annie is set to release her sophomore album ‘Don’t Stop’ in October on Island Records, and the Bergen, Norway pop artist is offering a sampler featuring songs from the disc. Listen to the 11 1/2 minute sampler here.
Annie checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@anniemusic) on Sunday (June 22) with an update on her radio tour. The Norwegian pop singer writes, “We started off in London, drove to Cardiff…and then to Birmingham, Leeds, Yorkshire, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. There was some other places too that I don’t remember at the moment. Was on the road for 5 days. Not sure how many radio interviews I’ve done, but must have been at least 35++… Also did some phoners with NME and several others. Feels a bit strange and funny to drive around. Sitting in a car, listening to the nu Cut Copy album, then out of the car… and talk about yourself for 10-15min… then back on the road again. Weird feeling but great that there actually is so much interest… makes me really happy!!!!!!”
Readers of popjustice.com submitted several odd questions to Annie, including her opinion on the toilet facilities in music venues around the UK. “I think it’s totally disgusting,” the ‘Chewing Gum’ singer responded. “Norway is better – but the nicest is Finland. In Finland, they always have toilet paper and a small shower. But I don’t use the shower.”
