Brendan James stopped by Buncearoo for a live set in March at the Franklin Performing Art Center in Purcellville, Virginia, where the singer songwriter performed ‘None’, ‘Nothing For Granted’, ‘Take The Fall’, ‘Emerald Sky’, ‘All I Can See’, ‘The Other Side’, ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’, ‘Green’, ‘Stupid For Your Love’ and ‘Younger Days’.
During the interview, Brendan talked about how he’s been performing for about a decade, how he always loved singing growing up, being on a short tour before a national tour in a couple months, being influenced by Van Morrison, Billy Joel and a lot of guys from the ’60s and ’70s, and being excited to play a bunch of new songs for his Buncearoo gig. Brendan added that he hopes to have a new album out by about July 10th.

Brendan James checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@brendanjames) on Monday (August 23), discussing the press he has been doing in New York City, where he resides, in support of his self-titled second album, out September 7th on Decca Records. The singer songwriter tells readers:
Press, press, press..
Just got back to the west coast after an action packed week in nyc. Met with the folks at People Magazine and US Weekly, had some great interviews with CNN.com! and the San Francisco Examiner..(That was by phone:)
Also got to perform live on Better TV and for the VEVO staff, which were both pretty low key and fun.
Then attended VH1’s Save the Music event at Bowlmor lanes. (Cool to hang a bit with the Plain White T’s after they performed for us all). Thanks to all the hardworking people at my label and beyond for these great opportunities.
Oh and forgot to mention the best moment of the week- holding a real copy of the new album in my hand after the first shipment arrived to Decca.
A labor of love completed.

The clip opens with comments from fans, then the New York City based singer songwriter talks about his New Hampshire roots, why he’s self-titling the second album, the importance of bringing the music on the road, teaming with producer Warren Huart on the project, and how it’s important for him to keep creating.
“My first album I’m really proud of, I love it,” Brendan said of his 2008 release ‘The Day Is Brave’. “I feel like it’s a big part of me. That style and those type of songs, but with this next album I really tried to dig deep and explore kind of all sides to me.”

I just got back yesterday from a great retreat to Charleston, where I was writing, hanging with friends, and becoming addicted to riding a motorcycle. (yep, thanks to the Vespa tour, I can’t seem to stay off two wheels these days) Lovin it. And I think I’ll be chillin in Brooklyn for another week before setting up camp in LA for the record. I just wanted to touch base and see how everyone was and see whats new! I keep thinking about you all while I’m writing this new record so thank you for all of your positive thoughts and messages! I really enjoy hearing from you. More to come!

2008 was a whirlwind and I’m still in disbelief that its over since it went so fast but I think its going to be an amazing year.
It’s hard to think 2009 could top 2008 but with London around the corner and the Mayercraft and all of the new music I’ve been in the studio recording, it’s hard not think this year will top the last.
I’m really just anxious to get the new music to you to hear what you think?
I want to thank each and everyone of you again for being a part of this experience with me, I’m looking forward to catching up with you through here, Facebook, MySpace, and our team page before I go off to London, I owe lots of you letters and thank you’s so please be patient with me, I’m workin on em one by one!!
As always, love to hear all of your great ideas on where to play, fun places to visit, and more, you’ve all been a huge inspiration to me.
