updated his MySpace friends on Friday (January 2) with the following bulletin:

2008 was a whirlwind and I’m still in disbelief that its over since it went so fast but I think its going to be an amazing year.

It’s hard to think 2009 could top 2008 but with London around the corner and the Mayercraft and all of the new music I’ve been in the studio recording, it’s hard not think this year will top the last.

I’m really just anxious to get the new music to you to hear what you think?

I want to thank each and everyone of you again for being a part of this experience with me, I’m looking forward to catching up with you through here, facebook, myspace, and our team page before I go off to London, I owe lots of you letters and thank you’s so please be patient with me, I’m workin on em one by one!!

As always, love to hear all of your great ideas on where to play, fun places to visit, and more, you’ve all been a huge inspiration to me.
Here’s to a great 2009 together!!!

Peace and Love,

Yeeeehaww, 2 and a half days in Kentucky, and I’m a changed man. Been watchin rodeo, drinkn 4 roses, hangin out with a bunch a cardinals. Highlights of the week so far have been partyn into the night after the show at Pheonix Hill Tavrn, forgetting my piano at the venue (that’s a first), chillin at the Hyatt (who have been so very accomodating) and of course finding two more great vintage stores to sift thru with my band. (Who r all convinced they should have been born in the early sixties).
We’re about to hit some Louisville distilleries, then hit the road to Alabama.

Brendan James Performs At NYSE Christmas Tree Lighting

checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Saturday (December 6), after performaning at the New York Stock Exchange’s 85th annual Christmas tree lighting on Broad Street the previous day. The singer songwriter tells readers:

As you know I had the honor of performing at the 85th annual NY Stock Exchange on Thursday. It felt so good to be able to share the stage with Gavin Degraw and Aretha Franklin. The weather was perfect (well, when I went on) and there were thousands of people filling wallstreet, I had never seen it like that. I sang “Oh Holy Night” and “Happy XMas/War is Over”

I thought the John Lennon song was appropriate given the current climate of the stock exchange…

“So this is Christmas and what have you done? Another year over, and a new one just begun”

I’m looking forward to our new year beginning, I feel like we have some good coming to us. Back to that day, we got the true rock-star treatment (Thank you Chris O’Donnel) Due to the high security of the NYSE We were pretty much stuck in our dressing room for a large part of the day, I’m not gonna lie, some wackiness ensued after the first 2 hours, lets just say some interesting phrases were thrown up on the Hang Man Board. Luckily Steve, our page for the day, came and took us on a grand tour of the building including getting to go out and see the trading floor. You wouldn’t think it would be a big deal but once you were in there It was really unbelievable to think that the whole world is effected by what was going on that very second in that very room. I got nervous I was gonna trip on a plug and shut the whole thing down.

I’m on the road right now, but I’ll try to get on tomorrow to tell you about Hamilton College and everything else goin on!

Peace and Love

B
