Brian McFadden spoke with the Daily Telegraph about his ex-girlfriend stepping out on a date recently with Nick Jonas, and how he’s handling the situation. “If she’s happy I’m happy. I’m a straight shooter. If I didn’t like it I would have said something or cracked it on Twitter. I didn’t mind,” the former Westlife member said. “She told me about it beforehand, whatever makes her happy. But there’s a warning from me, if anyone hurts her they’re dead.”
Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden released a statement via their publicist announcing that the pair have ended their 6 1/2 year relationship:
Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship.
This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realization that they have grown apart. They leave the partnership with respect for one and other, wishing each other success and happiness for the future.
Delta and Brian appreciate there will be interest regarding this announcement but request that their time together is respected and they are given privacy during this time of transition.
The former Westlife star told his Twitter followers (@brianmcfadden) in reaction to the news:
I love Delta and always will. She is one of God’s living angels. I thank her for giving me the best years of my life. Please give us time.
Brian McFadden checked in with his Twitter followers (@BrianMcFadden) moments ago, horrified by the reaction to his new single ‘Just The Way You Are (Drunk At The Bar)’, with many suggesting that the track promotes date rape. The song includes the lyrics, “I like you just the way you are, drunk as sh**, dancing at the bar” and “can’t wait to get you home so I can do some damage, can’t wait to get you home and take advantage.”
The former Westlife star Tweeted yesterday:
My new song is a tongue in cheek song about how I find it cute when my girl gets drunk… I am not promoting date-rape.
What’s the next thing I am going to be labeled as from things I say. Super intelligent reaction to my song. Wish I was as clever as them
And yes it is dumb lyrics and a dumb beat…. that was the point!!!! When did I ever claim to be John Lennon?

Feel sick that my single is getting so much attention for the wrong reason. I love making music but I do not want this song played on radio or being sold to profit myself if people think it’s about “date rape”. It’s not about date rape. I’m gonna give all my profits from the song to victims of rape. Because it disgusts me. Sorry people misunderstood my lyrics. Someone let me know a worthy charity who supports victims.

Brian McFadden has denied smoking on a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney. Initial reports said the former Westlife singer was arrested after being abusive to flight attendants who had asked him not to smoke. McFadden responded to the allegations on Twitter (@BrianMcFadden):
Wasn’t arrested! Didn’t smoke on the flight. And the Virgin staff were very nice. I did have a few drinks but I was not smashed and abusive

Brian McFadden checked in with his Twitter followers (@brianmcfadden) on Tuesday (November 23), musing about a return to Westlife. Shane Filan told The Sun “I don’t think it’s even remotely interesting if Brian came back” and that they aren’t interested in Brian returning to the veteran Irish boy band, which he quit in 2004. Brian writes:
I had a dream tonight I was back on stage with Westlife playing some crazy sized football stadium. I’m not gonna lie! I woke up smiling
If I’m to be honest yes I would love to do an album with boys and show JLS and Take That what we are really made of!
If the boys wanna challenge these newcomers I am always up for a fight. They know where. I am. Armed and ready to reclaim glory!
The reason I’m feeling like this is I watch my boys release an incredible emotive song and video and it play third fiddle to average
When will folk them the credit they deserve. They are not ‘X Factor’ band. They hard working creative machine who sacrificed a lot to get here

Perez Hilton caught up with Brian McFadden during the former Westlife star’s time in America, where he talked about his upcoming attempt to crack the States with his new single ‘Just Say So’, his fiance Delta Goodrem, Westlife, Robbie Williams rejoining Take That, and his ex-wife Kerry Katona. “I see the guys a lot and we speak on the phone,” Brian said about a possible reunion with Westlife. “We’ve talked about it. I would rather walk than ever travel Delta Airlines again.

Brian McFadden is firing back at his ex-wife Kerry Katona on his Twitter account (@BrianMcnugget), after she claimed in an interview with News of the World that the former Westlife singer “phones the girls about five times a year – but [our daughter] Lilly doesn’t really know who he is.” Brian said in Tweets that have mostly since been deleted:
A certain pig face mole has suggested my own daughter Lilly doesn’t know me and that I never speak to my kids..
FACT.. I call my girls at least twice a week, and have a beautiful relationship with my daughters…. and call me fat!
Take bowl of mayonnaise drenched chips out of your face and look in the mirror!

Kerry Katona is speaking out about her ex-husband Brian McFadden leaving her for Australian singer Delta Goodrem, and how the former Westlife member barely communicates with their two daughters Molly, 8, and Lilly-Sue, 7. “I remember thanking God I’d dressed up because this vision with a perfect figure, white shiny teeth, and a beautiful complexion was next to him. She was about a foot taller than me and I felt like a piece of rubbish,” Kerry said of her first meeting with Brian and Delta. “I was so nervous all I said was: ‘Hiya Love, are you all right?’ This to the woman who had taken my husband.”
Kerry added, “He phones the girls about five times a year – but Lilly doesn’t really know who he is. I’ve never told them what really happened. Brian has a new life in Australia now. I’m not bitter. I’m just sad for him. He’s missing out on two amazing little girls.”
