Brittany Murphy’s Vocal Talents Surprised Oakenfold

Paul Oakenfold spoke with The Sun about his latest collaboration with Brittany Murphy on the track ‘Faster Kill Pussycat’. “Her voice wasn’t what I had expected. I think people should judge the record for the record,” he said. “I’d rather they listened to the song first and then know it was Brittany. Otherwise people say it’s another actress trying to do a record and it throws you a little bit.”

Brittany Murphy Shows Off Her Singing Skills

Actress Brittany Murphy is featured on a track from DJ Paul Oakenfold’s new album ‘A Lively Mind’, due out June 6th. TMZ reports Oakenfold was introduced to Murphy through a mutual friend, and she blew him away with her vocal talent.

Brittany Murphy Inspired By Madonna As A Child

Actress Brittany Murphy answered a few questions from ‘TRL’ viewers over at MTV.com, including what her childhood dreams were and if they came true. “My dreams and aspirations when I was a child for as long as I can remember was to be an entertainer,” she said. “I started out in dance classes and I’ve always sang for as long as I can remember. When I was nine I started doing musical theater in the New Jersey area, where I’m from. The quickest way to entertain more people was to audition for commercials and that was the first thing available since it was right over the Hudson River. Madonna had a quote, ‘I’m going to change the world’–that was a huge inspiration to me so I decided I was going to be my own version of Madonna when I grew up.”

Brittany Murphy To Launch Music Career

Murphy was guarded about which direction her material would take. “You’ll see. It’s going to be a surprise.”
