Cheyenne Kimball checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@cheyennekimball) on Monday (July 17). “A very exciting thing happened – my album [‘The Day Has Come’] came out on July 11th,” she writes. “And I was in New York City when it came out, so I went to the Virgin Records store and went and bought it. It was a very happy moment and the MTV cameras were filming it, just in case there is a 2nd season, which we don’t know about yet, in case you were wondering. But yeah, my band and I all went and my mom and everybody – we all stood in line and bought our own copies of it. It was a very emotional experience.”

CD USA caught up with Cheyenne Kimball for a Q&A and asked the 15-year-old singer/songwriter what she thinks about this year’s album sales trend where veteran acts dominate the charts. “They don’t change too much,” she said. “I think a problem with some artists is they come out of something and they change it completely, which is ok to change a little bit, but to completely turn yourself around into something different, people won’t buy into that. They also keep writing and believing in their music. If you get out there and keep putting out albums, people will keep buying them. I hope to after my first album comes out, right now I’m working on my second one.”
Cheyenne Kimball was on the phone with Jackie & Bender of KISS 106.1 FM in Seattle on Wednesday (May 31) to promote her new MTV reality show ‘Cheyenne’, which premieres tonight. Afterwards, the morning crew talked about other Disney artists who are trying to shake the stereotype. Kiss1061.com has since removed the audio.
