Daniel Powter has signed on to Twitter (@powter), recording a video at his MySpace to verify his account. The singer songwriter will apparently be using the account to give away tickets for upcoming concerts worldwide.
“This is Daniel Powter and I’ll be updating all my latest information and news, not as much as that guy – what is his name – Ashton Kutcher, but I’ll be doing as much as I possibly can,” Powter said.

Daniel Powter updated fans on his blog at MySpace (@danielpowter) on Friday (January 9). The Canadian pop singer tells readers:
Hi Gang… Happy New Year. I Hope you all enjoyed your Holidays as much as I did. After some good R&R I am really looking forward to getting back out there with the band. I am going to play shows in Switzerland at the end of the month and then heading over to play in Taiwan. I can hardly wait for you guys to hear the new band… also will be finally gearing up for the US release. Best Wishes in the New Year to all… Be good to each other.
Daniel Powter took part in a chat over at Sweden’s TV4.se, where the Canadian singer songwriter was asked how he was going to top ‘Bad Day’ and if he worried about being known as a one hit wonder. “Well… it has only been one record,” Powter said in response to the bold query. “So let’s see what happens.”
As for what defines success to him, Powter said, “Success is doing what you love no matter how much it pays and being able to sleep at night knowing that you were good to others and being of service while staying humble.”
Daniel Powter checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@danielpowter) earlier this month with the following bulletin:
Macrobiotic diet? What is that anyway? Yesterday a friend told me he was having injections to remove all the metals from his blood stream. He tells me that it makes you exhausted but you can live to be 100 years old. I don’t know if I want to live that long. I live in a city where nothing is ever enough. Bigger house, nicer car, prettier girl, faster computer. I hired someone to wait in line for me to get the new iPhone the other day. Guess what? It’s just a phone!!! No big deal. I don’t know where I’m going with this. I really have to practice slowing my life down. Not being distracted by all the candy on the sidelines can be challenging sometimes, but I know my life runs just as well even when I don’t have the latest gadget. In LA you can phone your oven to preheat it from 80 miles away. The house might be on fire when you get home but at least you cooked a turkey. Today I will practice staying present and living in the moment. Not tomorrow, not next week…. just right now. Be well.
Daniel Powter is out with the music video to his new single ‘Next Plane Home’, the first release off the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia singer songwriter’s third album ‘Under the Radar’, out soon on Warner Bros. Records. Watch it below.
Daniel Powter checked in from Taiwan on his blog at MySpace on Monday (July 7). The Canadian singer songwriter tells fans, “My trip was amazing! I played the Golden Melody Awards which is sort of SE Asia’s version of the Grammy’s. It was surreal and strange. I had no idea what was happening and felt as though I was in a pinball machine. The characters and the clothing and artists were not of this world but I loved the experience. Everything is very regimented from what you say to how long you play. Oh me…. you know I’m going to do something that was not scripted, so I gave a Chinese artist a kiss on the cheek in front of millions of people. The label told me not to do it so of course I did it anyway… Big Deal. I gotta be me right. I love Taiwan… the people were so gracious and kind to me. I will be back early next year to tour through Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and China. It should be as amazing as it always is.”
Daniel Powter has been invited as the exclusive international performing artist to attend and perform at The Golden Melody Awards ceremony in Taiwan on Saturday (July 5). Powter will perform his brand new song ‘Whole World Around’, from his forthcoming album ‘Under The Radar’ as well as other hits. In addition, Ford has picked up ‘Whole World Around’ for their latest commercial campaign in Taiwan and China, and the song quickly became the #1 ringtone in Taiwan.
