Darius Campbell Thanks Fans For ‘Popstar To Operastar’ Votes

Darius Campbell (aka ) checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Tuesday (January 19), talking about his participation in the ITV1 show ‘Popstar to Operastar’. The 29-year-old writes:

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well and I just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone who voted for me on Friday.

I’m relieved the first show is over and so happy to get through. Singing ‘Nessun Dorma’ was a huge privilege for me and I hope I did it justice.

I’m loving doing this show and we are becoming a tight knit group of friends. The many weeks of rehearsals are starting to pay off for all of us now and as upset as we were to see Alex go, we know that someone has to leave each week. I just hope I can do enough week after week to impress the viewing public and make it through.

I’m back in rehearsals now ahead of this Friday’s show and really looking forward to it. So happy to be back on the TV in front of you guys and hopefully stay in the competition as long as possible but that’s up to you!!

Darius Danesh To Work With Pete Glenister Again On Third Album

Sending you all a big Christmas hug and much love this festive season to you and yours…

I’m writing this from a snow covered log cabin in Canada, and I know you haven’t heard from me much in 2008, but promise I’ll be back in the New Year!

I’m returning to the UK to work with Pete Glenister soon (he co-wrote and produced Colourblind and my favourite songs on the first album) and you’ll be able to catch me guest-starring on Hotel Babylon in February… Until then I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas holiday and wish you all health, wealth and happy times in 2009…

Thank you for your loyal and wonderful support, your incredibly generous support, birthday gift, cards and letters this year- and I hope that you and your families have a remarkable New Year…

The Glasgow Daily Record reports ‘Pop Idol’ finalist has moved into the Hollywood Hills home of his screen-star lover Natasha Henstridge and is beginning work on his third album. “Darius has come a long way,” a source said. “His critics said he had no talent and would end up a nobody. But he’s working on his third album and is living in the Hollywood Hills in a million-pound mansion with his gorgeous film star girlfriend. It’s hard to believe it’s the same person who was laughed off ‘Pop Stars’ as a joke-figure. Darius is living the high life now.”
