David Cook, David Archuleta Perform On ‘Today’

‘American Idol’ season seven champ David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta visited the ‘Today’ show on Thursday (May 29) to perform in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Cook talked with Merideth Vieira about his “cougar” fan base, his long struggle as an artist finally paying off, and being amazed ‘Time Of My Life’ is #1 on iTunes. Archuleta talked with Matt Lauer about how he’s not used to have so many fans, hoping for the best for a musical career going forward, and dealing with nerves. David Archuleta Asked About Stage Dad Jeff On ‘Larry King Live’

During David Archuleta’s appearance on ‘Larry King Live’ on Friday (May 23), Larry asked the ‘American Idol’ season seven runner-up whether his father Jeff was a problem for the show’s producers at all. “Well, we didn’t see the producers too much,” he said. “You know, I’d see them every now and then and then talk and stuff. But, you know, he was just – he was – he had to be there for guardian. I always had a guardian.”

Asked if Jeff was pushy, the 17-year-old responded, “You know, he always has his opinion about things. And, you know, a lot of times I’d (INAUDIBLE) what he – his suggestions. And I didn’t always, you know – you know, sometimes it’s like, oh, yes, that’s – you know, thanks for your advice, but, you know, I’m just going to go for this and stuff like that. You know, it’s just about taking risks and, you know, there are some things that I was kind of scared to try and I just went for it and it was, you know, a great learning experience.”

Later, Larry asked Archuleta if he and his father are close. “Oh, yes. Yes. You have to, to go through all this, you know, him having to always be there,” David responded. “He was my roommate so — well, I had Chikezie, too. And he was a good roommate too. Ramiele Malubay Visits ‘Today’ After ‘American Idol’ Exit

Ramiele Malubay, who was voted off ‘American Idol’ last week, visited the ‘Today’ show on Tuesday (April 8) to talk about her time on the hit FOX program and how her life has changed since appearing on the show. “People can say my name now,” Ramiele remarked, adding that she “kind of” thought it could be her week after the Dolly Parton performance. March 13, 2008 – Last night’s ‘American Idol’ saw 24-year-old contender David Hernandez with a stripper past become the first of the final twelve contestants in the hit FOX show get sent home. “Honestly, things happen for a reason,” Hernandez said after host Ryan Seacrest revealed the results of the 29 million votes. “I think we all have a plan. This isn’t it for me.” Kristy Lee Cook and Syesha Mercado, also in the bottom three, survived for another week.
