David Archuleta Checks In After ‘American Idol’ Tour Press, Photoshoot

Today we did a bunch of press stuff for the tour. Carly [Smithson] and I were partners and it was pretty fun haha. She’s kinda like my mom of the group because she’s always making sure I’m doing what I’m supposed to. I also had a photoshoot today which was a lot of fun. I actually used to hate pictures and would like run from any camera until about last summer. Yeah I was pretty weird haha. But anyway I’ve gotten a lot better with cameras and don’t mind them, especially since they’re everywhere now. I can probably thank Fish for overcoming my fear of cameras, since she had one everywhere we hung out last summer and I started getting the hang of it.

Tomorrow I have some other music stuff for the album and then I’m going to the ‘Wall-E’ movie premiere. I know I’m pretty immature, but Pixar movies are my favorite. They’re just really clever and I love being a kid lol. I can’t wait to see it. So tomorrow should be another fun day. That’s all for right now!

David Archuleta: I’ve Gotten Pretty Flabby In Hollywood

‘’ season seven runner-up responded to several fan questions in a video over at youtube.com. Asked if he had any pets, the 17-year-old revealed he has a fun poodle named Teddy as well as a goldfish named Conditioner. “I love animals. I can’t wait to get more when I grow up,” Archuleta said. Asked if he speaks Spanish since his mother is from Honduras, David said, “I speak a little bit of Spanish. I wish I spoke more. It actually was my first language when I was little.” Asked if he works out or lifts weights, David said he used to and admitted “I’ve gotten pretty flabby while I’ve been here.” Watch the video clip below.

‘’ season seven runner-up checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Monday (June 16) after celebrating Father’s Day with his dad Jeff. The 17-year-old writes:

Hey Everyone!

I hope you guys had a great Father’s Day yesterday. For Father’s Day my dad, a friend of ours and I went to Soup Plantation for lunch haha. I actually really liked the food there. We also had enough time in the day to go to church before the schedule started and lunch so that was neat to be able to do.

Today we have some more rehearsals for tour, and then after that we’re having some more meetings on my own career lol. Well that’s all for now. I’ll try to keep you guys posted. Oh and by the way thanks everyone for wishing my dad a happy Father’s Day. I really appreciate that and I know he does as well. He’s been great so I’m glad you guys took time to send him your messages. Hope everyone else’s dads had a great time too!

David Archuleta Defends Dad, Performs ‘Angels’ On ‘The Early Show’

In an interview with ‘The Early Show’ on Thursday, ‘’ season seven runner-up told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez his father Jeff is “a great guy”, despite reports suggesting he’s a stage dad who infuriated ‘Idol’ producers. “I really appreciate his support and all my family’s support,” Archuleta added. “You know, he’s given great advice, but he’s let me do my own thing. And it’s been great to have him there, just reminding me to keep grounded and remember what’s important.” The 17-year-old also performed a cover of Robbie Williams’ hit ‘Angels’ on the program. '' season seven champ and runner-up visited the 'Today' show on Thursday (May 29) to perform in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Cook talked with Merideth Vieira about his "cougar" fan base, his long struggle as an artist finally paying off, and being amazed 'Time Of My Life' is #1 on iTunes. Archuleta talked with Matt Lauer about how he's not used to have so many fans, hoping for the best for a musical career going forward, and dealing with nerves. David Archuleta Asked About Stage Dad Jeff On ‘Larry King Live’

During 's appearance on 'Larry King Live' on Friday (May 23), Larry asked the '' season seven runner-up whether his father Jeff was a problem for the show's producers at all. "Well, we didn't see the producers too much," he said. "You know, I'd see them every now and then and then talk and stuff. But, you know, he was just - he was - he had to be there for guardian. I always had a guardian."

Asked if Jeff was pushy, the 17-year-old responded, "You know, he always has his opinion about things. And, you know, a lot of times I'd (INAUDIBLE) what he - his suggestions. And I didn't always, you know - you know, sometimes it's like, oh, yes, that's - you know, thanks for your advice, but, you know, I'm just going to go for this and stuff like that. You know, it's just about taking risks and, you know, there are some things that I was kind of scared to try and I just went for it and it was, you know, a great learning experience."

Later, Larry asked Archuleta if he and his father are close. "Oh, yes. Yes. You have to, to go through all this, you know, him having to always be there," David responded. "He was my roommate so -- well, I had Chikezie, too. And he was a good roommate too. But after Chikezie left, I just had my dad there." Check out the entire transcript at CNN.com.

‘Access Hollywood’ Talks With David Archuleta After ‘Idol’ Finale

Shaun Robinson of 'Access Hollywood' caught up with on Wednesday night following the finale of '', which saw him lose to . The teen said he wasn't yet exhausted, but anticipated it following the round of press interviews he'd have to do. "I was planning on Cook winning," Archuleta said. "I wanted to show people I'm giving it my all for this last final," he added. Archuleta said Cook told him "I love you" when the pair embraced following Ryan Seacrest's announcement that Cook had won. Watch the interview below.
