First Aid Kit checked in with fans on their blog at MySpace (@thisisfirstaidkit) on Tuesday (September 21) after a trip down under. Sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg write:
We just came back from a fantastic trip to New Zealand and Australia. We were blown away by the positive spirit of the Aussies and Kiwis we met. We are spoiled to be met with so much love, thank you so much. We truly and honestly appreciate it more than you know.
We went to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland. In all these cities the food was so delicious, we’ve never eaten better food in our lives. The nature was spectacular, although we regret that we did not see any kangaroos, koalas or kiwi birds (just plenty of statues). Maybe next time?
First Aid Kit are out with the music video to their new single ‘Ghost Town’, the third release off the Swedish folk pop duo’s debut album ‘The Big Black & The Blue’, released September 28th. “‘Ghost Town’ is very dear to us and singing this song at our shows is always a highlight for us,” sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg write. “We can honestly say that we are happy with its music video, the director Mats Udd and his crew did a fantastic job and really captured the spirit of the song. We filmed it during a beautiful summer’s day at a wheat field and a meadow in Stockholm. It’s inspired by ‘Picnic At Hanging Rock’ among other things. The shooting was a lot of fun, but we got over 100 mosquito bites each (!!). However, it’s all for the art, right?” Watch it via YouTube below.

Nylon TV spent time with sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg of the Swedish folk pop act First Aid Kit, who were sitting on a giant frog. The pair talked about making music together since 2007, liking the same kind of music, prefering dresses from the ’60s and ’70s, being inspired by Bright Eyes, and how they came up with the band name. “When we write music, it’s to help ourselves,” Johanna said. “What we wish is that our music can help other people as well.” Watch it via YouTube below.

Klara and Johanna Söderberg of First Aid Kit checked in with fans on the Swedish folk pop act’s blog at MySpace (@thisisfirstaidkit) on Wednesday (April 21), discussing their recent concerts – including SXSW, progress on new material, and having their first real tour with a drummer. They write:
We are now at home spending time with our dear family! We just wanted to thank you all for coming to our shows we’ve done now since February. It’s been so magical!
We are working on some new songs, listening to new great music (Laura Marling’s album is pretty amazing) and listening to old great music. (Townes Van Zandt – what a songwriter)
This was our first real tour with a drummer, and we must say me had so much fun, we loved every second of it. We toured all through the UK, must give a big shout out to the people of the city of Hull for being so god damn amazing! It is the best tour we have ever done to date, traveling through beautiful England and Scotland and meeting all of you was such a treat. Thank you.
