Neil Sean of Sky News spoke with G4’s Jon Ansell about the ‘X Factor’ group being unable to sell out a single date on their 18 stop tour with Voices With Soul. “It’s quite sad really,” he admitted. “We’re hoping the dates will fill up nearer the time. It’s tough touring – look at Geri; she had to cancel hers. I don’t think we’ll be doing that just yet.”
The Daily Star reports that after Mariah Carey and G4 both performed on ‘Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ over the weekend, they may be hooking up for a song. “She had a huge No.1 with Westlife and sees G4 as perfect follow-ups as they’re well known in the UK and can hit the high notes unaided,” a source said.
G4 were on hand with their mothers to launch Daz, Asda and The Sun’s “Wonder Mum” Competition at Holborn Studios on Thursday (February 3) in London. The competition – launched ahead of Mother’s Day on March 6th – aims to find Britain’s best Mother, who will be presented with the award by Sarah Ferguson on May 18th. ‘X Factor’ runners-up G4 have signed a £1m record deal with Sony Music, Sky News is reporting. Their debut album will be released next month. “The sound of the album will build on what we achieved on the show,” a statement from the boy band explained. “Our act is a little different from what is out there and we hope that was what drew people to us. We are all just so excited and already so proud of the album.”
