Gareth Gates “Can’t Wait” To Become A Dad

updated fans on his blog at MySpace on Wednesday (March 18), talking about his West End role as Joseph in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and how he and wife Suzanne Mole are expecting their first child soon. The ‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up writes:

I’m so happy at the moment. The shows going well and I’m enjoying being Joseph. I’ve got used to the loin cloth… And quite enjoy prancing about the stage in a skirt! Is that wrong?!! Anyway, the audiences have been great and its so encouraging to see the ‘old faithfuls’ supporting me. You know who you are! Seriously, it means the world to me. Thank you.

So… Only a couple more weeks and I’ll be a dad!! Woo…and GULP!! I’m naturally a little nervous but CAN’T WAIT! Suzanne and baby are doing well, and the nursery is all ready for her arrival. Which brings me on to saying, thank you so much for all your gifts! The nursery is full of beautiful little gifts from you guys. Thank you!

Gareth Gates Nervous About ‘Practically Naked’ Role As Joseph

checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Friday (January 16) as his role in the pantomime ‘Cinderella’ comes to an end and before his lead role in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ begins. The ‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up tells readers:

Well it’s almost over! Only a few more days left of me being Prince Charming. I’ve had loads and loads of fun and have met some wonderful people along the way. I’m actually quite sad it’s all finished. However, I’m really excited to be the next Joseph. Rehearsals start as soon as I’ve finished panto, and VERY excited about opening night (My official opening night is 9th Feb). Hope you’ve all got your tickets! Already had the fitting for the loin cloth, and it fits well, even though I’m actually quite nervous to be onstage practically naked! (I have been in the gym lots though.) Suzanne’s doing fine too, getting bigger and bigger everyday. Thank you all for the support you’ve given me throughout my time at panto. It means a lot. A special thank you to Vera who must of come to the show about 20 times! What was everyone’s favorite moment in the show? Oh and Happy New Year! Lots of love, Gareth x

Gareth Gates: Soccer Aid Was A Highlight Of My Life

checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Thursday (September 11) after particpating in the celebrity UNICEF soccer match Soccer Aid on Sunday, which the England squad won 4-3 over the rest of the world. The ‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up writes:

Hey!

Long time no speak I know, but I’m currently having lunch with a friend and we are waiting for desert so I thought I’d take this opportunity to say hello!

So did any of you watch the Soccer Aid football match game on Sunday? It was the most amazing experience. I walked into the dressing room on the first day of training and saw my shirt hanging next to Alan Shearer’s… So bizarre!! The whole week was certainly a highlight of my life and walking out onto the pitch at the new Wembley Stadium was just incredible – I got such a rush walking out of the tunnel that our national team walk out of.

Winning the match was bloody amazing, and the team were just so chuffed that we won, but the bottom line was that whilst we all got to play our favorite sport, we also helped to raise a huge amount of money for Unicef.

Thanks to all of you who came along and supported me and the team, it was such a lot of fun and I’ve made a fair few new friends too.

There are lots of exciting things happening just now but I can’t say anything yet. As soon as I can you will all be the first to know.
Can’t wait to see you all again.
Lots of love,

Gareth x

Gareth Gates Excited After His Best ‘Dancing On Ice’ Score

‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Monday (February 18) with the following message in regards to his participation in ‘Dancing On Ice’:

Hi everyone.

Can you believe we’re into week seven already? It’s gone so fast, but it’s really starting to feel like a competition now. We’re over half way through and things are beginning to get serious, but I’m having so much fun on the ice that all the hours of practice are worth it when I step out onto the rink with Maria and we get to perform for everyone. It’s brilliant!

I was really pleased with the scores we got from the judges. 23.0 is our best so far and I was so excited to get my first 5.0! It really feels like it’s all coming together and getting a good score is a such a great feeling. I couldn’t wait to get back on the ice today and start practicing this week’s routine.
By the way, what did you think of my unique move? I like to call it ‘the groin killer’!

Anyway, back to practice for me. Thanks once again to everyone who voted. It’s really appreciated.

Big love
Gareth

Gareth Gates Absolutely Loving ‘Dancing On Ice’

‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace earlier today after his ‘Dancing On Ice’ performance over the weekend. Gates writes:

Hi all

Well, we stayed in the twenties last night and we came fourth with the judges but we’re still up there with the leaders, which is great as I’m absolutely loving it and feel I can really get a lot better the more skating I do. A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us. It means so much and obviously I want to keep going as long as possible, so thanks to all of you.

If you saw the show last night you’ll have seen us dance to Blame It On The Boogie, which is one of my favorite tracks. I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan so it was brilliant to dance to one of his tunes.

I’m in a double rehearsal with Maria today and we’re really getting stuck in to the next routine, which is going well. I was really worried about Maria’s knee after our little accident last week when I dropped her during practice. It was a scary moment, but I’m happy to say that she’s fine.

Anyway, time to get back to practice.

Thank you once again to everyone who voted for us… it really does means the world : )

Big Love,
Gareth

Gareth Gates Is Loving Skating

‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Monday (January 21) after skating on ‘Dancing On Ice’ over the weekend. Gates writes:

Well what did you think? Gareth Skates did OK didn’t he? I loved it last night. I had such a good time, and when I re-watched the performance afterwards, I realized that I really was enjoying it. I practiced so hard last week and I think it really showed, especially in the judges’ scores. A massive thank you to everybody who voted for me – it really means a lot to stay in another week, and you’ll be glad to know that I was already back in the rink today learning my next routine. My partner Maria has been amazing as well and Jayne and Chris, they really all are fantastic teachers. I LOVE SKATING!

Anyway I’ve got to go – sorry it’s a short one but I’ve gotta get practicing : )

Love
Gareth
